Location last seen at Evans Boarding House. Prater's landlord reached out to his sister, Cynthia Davis, on the morning of January 10, 2008, to let her know that he had not seen Prater in over a week. Davis then went to her brother's apartment to take a look around. She stated that nothing seemed to be out of order or concerning to her.

At the time he went missing, Prater was being treated for a mental illness. Davis reported that Prater did not have many friends and walked most places he went. She is unaware of any friends, family, or connections he may have had whom he may have traveled out of the area with.

Prater has not been seen or heard from since before January 10, 2008, though the exact date of his disappearance is unknown at this time. He is quiet and stays to himself but is easy to get along with and may be easy to take advantage of due to his mental illness according to his family.
