Came back to Gulfport for her daughter's birthday, was planning on staying for awhile. Additional Information: Barber left her job at around 1:30 p.m. on May 31, 1984, at Bobbie Magee's Club in Gulfport, Mississippi. She got into a cab with a female co-worker and was very intoxicated at the time. The cab arrived at the Holiday Inn on Highway 90 in Gulfport. The female co-worker got out of the cab and walked towards the hotel. The cab driver realized that Barber was passed out in the backseat. The cab driver asked Barber's co-worker what to do with Barber and she said "do whatever you want!" He was able to wake Barber, but when she regained consciousness she did not know where she was. She exited the cab and walked toward the beach.

The cab driver realized that Barber had left her purse in the backseat, so he turned around and went to the hotel to find the co-worker. She told the cab driver to turn the purse in to the police, which he did.

Barber has never been seen or heard from since. There are few details available in her disappearance.
